Ophelia

Ophelia is a kinetic art object created by a new technology of optical fibers transmitting a light image.
Inspired by John Everett Millais’ painting “Ophelia”. The designer is breaking the stereotyped idea of a beautiful forever young woman and is using a portrait of an old lady instead.
She’s floating in the water as a homeless drowned in the sewage disposal plant.
The image was constructed by over 40 000 optical fibers floating in the water, surrounded by flowers.
